The
Balboa Park Online Collaborative submitted a IMLS National Leadership Grant to
aggregate collections content from its member institutions in a rich online
resource at www.balboapark.org. The
Collaborative is a trailblazing partnership of 20 cultural organizations in San
Diego’s Balboa Park--primarily small- and medium-sized art, history, and
science museums and performing arts organizations--that have recognized that
collective planning and implementation activities allow organizations with
limited technology resources to pursue goals for technology-enabled public
access to collections that would otherwise be beyond their reach.
